KUWAIT CITY(IAMINKUWAIT): Namaa Zakat and Community Development Committee affi liated to the Social Reform Society announced its achievements in the year 2018.
In a press release, the committee affirmed that it executed 19 charity projects that included seasonal projects such as the Ramadan Iftar meals and Eid Al-Fitr sacrifi ces, as well as standing projects like sponsoring poor families and orphans, in addition to several other health, education and water-related projects.
Board Chairman of the committee Hassan Ali Al-Hunaidi explained that Namaa distributed 275,000 Iftar meals during the month of Ramadan in 88 different locations across Kuwait. It distributed 6,254 Ramadan baskets via coupons to needy families.
Also, 5,316 families were given 270 tons of rice, 932 packs of clothes were given as Eid gifts to orphans, and 1,715 sacrifi cial sheep were distributed to 5,145 families during Eid Al-Fitr.
Over 250 families benefi ted from the warm winter project during which winter coats, blankets and heaters were distributed for the purpose.
Nearly 77 families were benefi ciaries of the “Keep them cold” project during which air conditioners, fridges and coolers were distributed.
