KUWAITCITY(IAMINKUWAIT) : The Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Hamid Al-Azmi, Minister of Works and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Dr. Janan Boushahri toured Kuwait University's new campus project in Shadadiya yesterday morning to check the readiness of the roads leading to the campus and follow up the latest preparations for the six colleges buildings. The plan included the transition and operation of the new campus at the beginning of the academic year 2019/2020, in the presence of the Director of Kuwait University Dr. Hussein Al-Ansari, the Secretary-General of the University Dr. Muthanna Rifai, the Director of the construction program Dr. Qutaiba Razouki, and a number of leaders of the Ministry of Works and representatives of the Ministry of Interior sectors Rescue and public security.

The Director of the construction program, Dr. Qutaiba Razouki, gave a visual presentation on the operational plan at the beginning of the academic year in September 2019, explaining the location map of the university city and the operating plan, indicating the readiness of the university city on site from the colleges and infrastructure buildings, and on-site services from: entrances, parking, streets Interior and exterior, temporary fences, and signs.

During the video presentation, Razouki confirmed the readiness of the buildings of six colleges on the new campus to receive students by the beginning of the semester on September 8, indicating the university operating plan and the readiness of the college's buildings and infrastructure and on-site services for colleges.

This tour came within the framework of intensifying the governmental efforts by the Ministry of Works and the General Authority for Roads and Land Transport with regard to equipping the roads leading to the university and its entrances and exits, in coordination with the Kuwait Municipality and the General Administration of Traffic to ensure the smooth movement and access of the campus to the new university sites in Shedadiya.

The tour included a field visit to the buildings of the six faculties received by the university, namely, the faculties of Arts, Education, Administrative Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering, Petroleum and Science, which will be transferred as approved by the Supreme Council of the University during its recent meetings, in addition to a tour of the facilities of the new campus, laboratories and classrooms, and internal roads of the campus. To ensure the progress of the university transition process optimally.

It is worth mentioning that the transfer and operation plan includes the transfer of four faculties, namely: administrative sciences, arts, education, and life sciences. Al-Khaldiya and Shuwaikh campuses to the University's new site in Shadadiyah, in addition to providing special gates different from the entry gates of construction, works to facilitate the entry and exit of faculty and students
