Kuwait(IAMINKUWAIT): Companies that trade food products with Kuwait are redirecting their products to UAE and Oman for its exhaustive delay in results, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to the Kuwait Union of Traders and Food Manufacturers, the process of testing food items in Oman and UAE takes only three hours.

The union received several complaints from the companies that their food products are delayed trade due to the long duration in publishing the results. The food items are also spoiled due to lack of space in border warehouses and thus stored in local warehouses. The spoiled items are eventually sent for testing giving the negative results. To add to the problem, the laboratories take 20 days to give the result, giving them a hard time. The traders called on the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to intervene on the matter for ensuring the safety of the commodities.
