KUWAITCITY(IAMINKUWAIT) : Six people, including two policemen, were killed in an attack on Sunday by a suicide bomber in northwestern Pakistan and adopted by the Pakistani Taliban, police sources said.
The attack occurred at the entrance to a hospital in the village of Kotlan Sedan in the vicinity of Deira Ismail Khan, the city that has seen a large number of attacks at the height of the wave of violence in Pakistan.
"Police were transporting two bodies of policemen killed by extremists on Saturday when an explosion took place," district police chief Salim Riyadh told AFP.
"A 28-year-old female suicide bomber arrived on foot and blew herself up, killing two policemen, four civilians and injuring 13 others," he said. The wounded are eight policemen and five civilians.
The other official in the local police, Malik Habib, the method of implementation of the attack and the outcome of the victims, adding that the security forces later found the head of the suicide.
Pakistani Taliban spokesman Mohammad Kharasani adopted the attack in a statement sent to the media.
Pakistan has stepped up its campaign against extremists after a late-2014 attack on a school in Peshawar that killed more than 150 people, mostly children.
Since then, the security situation has improved dramatically but extremists are still able to launch violent attacks.
